WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE special night!

So last Thursday was pretty interesting. Seven illustrators gathered in an secret location in East London, collaborating on a whole gang of drawings. Super lovely people they were too.

Pork pies, scotch eggs and beer made for a heady creative mix with some amazing results. Cant reveal the pics for a few weeks but they were good..... real good!

Check the Where the Wild things are, Eric Koston Girl deck signed by Spike Jonze. I touched it. It was rad.

DUSTY WOLF CHILD!

Turns out Jesse had brought an eye patch with him to my show at JAGUAR SHOES. Who does that? Good style.

FIGO VENGEANCE AT JAGUAR SHOES!

YO!
My sweet fixie. The bike of Figo Vengeance. Only five men on this earth are allowed to ride her. Figo was one, I am one, my son is one when he is of age and the other 3 know who they are. Its a sacred visionary ride.

I love bikes like I love my woman, I ride it everyday. I cant wait to ride Figo down the street, feathers flying in the wind, arrows in my hair.

Enough bullshit. This is a dream come true for me. Bike and build done with exquisite attention to detail by the wonderful chaps at TOURDEVILLE and incredible shaman style spray job by DEATH SPRAY CUSTOM. seeing is believing with this one, go and check the sparkles on the blue! Unbelievable. One off magic.

To see party wild times go here: STEM

EL CAPITANE AT JAGUAR SHOES!

YO!
Inspired unashamedly by one of my all time heroes of life, Ernest Hemmingway. El Capitane is The Captain, a sailor, a boxer, a cyclist, a fisherman, a hunter, a wild man writer and all time legend.

Ride it fixed or ride home. Bike and build by the legends that are TOURDEVILLE.

As ever I have collborated in the best one yet with DEATH SPRAY CUSTOM. Fuckin rad no?

Thanks to Anthony Dickenson for his amazing photography of the place.

See more pics of the party times HERE...

ITS VENGEANCE NOT VOODOO!

Downstairs at JAGUARSHOES is where my collection of NOT VOODOO drawings lives. I have been doing them for Gordon Comstock on and off for over a year now. They were quick to do and raw as hell. Like a cheap ass Raymond Pettibon  tribute act I plastered the walls with inky goodness and wild words.

Still using the same old Dusty Wolf head from back in the 2000 college days. No growing up for me kid!

SAME OLD yo!

VENGENACE PRINTS

NOT VOODOO 9!

Father forgive me! Its Good Friday!

I haven't had phone or email last few days so not sure if Gordon is expecting these, but I draw this shit anyway, just whats on my mind.

I'll send them to you now Gordo. They are photos by the way, no access to an A3 scanner anymore. STAY WILD LIKE A WELL STYLED WILD CHILD!

HEY I GOT NO PHONE!

JUST IN CASE ANYONE HAS TEXT OR CALLED ME IN THE LAST FEW DAYS, MY PHONE IS GONE FOR NOW AND I CANT MAKE OR RECEIVE ANYTHING...

Hopefully be back soon. My work email is gone too. Please contact me on: dustywolfeagle@hotmail.com

TEAM UNIHORN

With a few close friends I am starting a skate team. TEAM UNIHORN. We have no logo no identity or no slogan yet, but it will come... and it well be frikkin special.

I havent cleared it with the other throbbing members of the team yet but I quite like CRAZY. HORNY. WILD. as a slogan. Or UNITED AS ONE HORN. Its still a work in progress.

I got a new crusier deck this week, to take me to the train station, with big ol 60mm OJ wheels from 1986! I cut a diamond in the grip as its so special... Its super fast... Check my other board from a thrift store in Canada for 75 cents, snakes alive its made from perspex! Who knew? With a classic screaming hand Jim Phillips sticker. Jim. My hero.

NOKIA at Web 2.0, SAN FRANCISCO

So for my day job I am an art director. "Oh yeah? so what?" Exactly. But I do alot of design and events for Nokia. This one event I was art directing in San Francisco had a Creative wall where "an illustrator" had to take requests from the public at a Web 2.0 expo and draw what the people wanted.

I went as "the illustrator." It was good clean fun, drawing on canvas with poster pens, every drawing having a smile and a positive comment. I enjoyed it alot and met some nice and some wild peoples.

San Francisco is amazing. A wild place full of crazy and beautiful people.

Thanks to T.Rio for taking pics of me during the event. Check his record spinning skills here, he is a good man with a lot of integrity.

Bless you sir and bless all the kids in the frisco disco!

DEATH SPRAY MORE TO COME...

I have lots more fun collaborative projects planned over the rest of the year with Death Spray Custom so watch yourself!

Check sweet new Death Spray work now you beasts!

WHEN I AM BIG...

So Emilie Fjola Sandy, a wonderful lady and amazing photographer friend of mine, asked if I would be interested in taking part in her project "When I am big..." where people dress up in the outfit of the job they wanted to do when they were a kid.

I was always dressing up as a soldier or cowboy as a child so thats what I went with. It was good times and please check Emilie's amazing work at http://emiliefjolasandy.blogspot.com/

Her website is rad too with loads of famous bands on there. http://www.emiliesandy.com/

NOT VOODOO 8!

So here's the Not Voodoo drawing I did ages ago but didn't post as I been away. Its a self portrait and something I said to my wife once. Oh yeah? So what?

Check out Gordons insane rantings bordering on genius right here and here and here...

FRASER BEAR

So it was our families turn to bring the legendary "Fraser Bear" home for the night. Each kid in my sons class has to take this gypsy bear home for one night, wine him, dine him, show him a good time and then send him back into the class with a photo diary of his wild exploits.

I enjoyed the evening. Check the shots of the police car, Jesse, Fraser and me made a car ramp and shot the car off it and I took a thousand photos till we got it good. God bless you Fraser.

NOT VOODOO 7!

A short excerpt from Woody Allens 1979 masterpiece Manhattan:

Tracy: Let's fool around, it'll take your mind off it.
Isaac Davis: Hey, how many times a night can you, how, how often can you make love in an evening?
Tracy: Well, a lot.
Isaac Davis: Yeah! I can tell, a lot. That's, well, a lot is my favorite number.

GET LAID ITS FRIDAY! but play safe kids and before you do it be sure to check out Not Voodoo blog as that guy writes for Creative Review and shit.

PET PORTRAITS competition!

In a moment of artistic madness I drew this stupid cat.
In association with Not Voodoo I have asked people to send me there personal pet portraits to dustywolfeagle@hotmail.com, the winner will receive this stupid drawing done in pen and ink with a stupidly large and strange signature.

So far today I have been innundated with reponses but I only post up the best ones so keep trying kids and you might just make it to my wall of shame. I have received some incredible images.

To Paul from Essex, thats not a pet picture, its your wife. Nice tattoo she has by the way.

LITTLE WHITE LIES

I just got sent this magazine yesterday. I was asked to illustrate their back section. This issue was about a new Swedish vampire movie called "Let the right one in" it looks amazing. It was fun to draw that scary image and then a few little spot ones and another one about the film "Radio on" which I have never seen but looks really good.

Two colours is fun.

DEATH SPRAY CHAIR SNEAK PEEK

WOOOOAAAAAAAHHH there! A sneaky peek at an ongoing collaboration I am working on with Death Spray Custom. More pics coming soon. I think this looks sweet! Custom school chair with my design all up on it. Very happy.

LOWLIFE TEES

I was asked by LOWLIFE to be a guest artist for their summer collection. There were various themes I was asked to illustrate but mainly around the horror theme. Roaring wolf head, scare hair face of fear, skate zombies, diamonds of pleasure and one that’s not here, wizard of doom. They will be officially released in the summer.

GO GET SOME!

HAPPY VALENTINES!

This is one for the ladies of the world but specifically for my wife. So its Valentines day this weekend. So Happy valentines day. Read Sebastien's lyrics and then watch his beautiful video.

Oh nothing's going to change my love for you
I wanna spend my life with you
So we make love on the grass under the moon
No one call tell, damned if I do
Forever journey on golden avenues
I drift in your eyes since I love you
I got that beat in my veins for only rule
Love is to share, mine is for you

Sebastien Tellier

NOT VOODOO 6!

Recent posts on Not Voodoo tackle such topics as unemployment, disillusionment with the modern world, excessive computer gaming, nazism and wolf attack statistics. Plus this new piece of pie I baked especially for the occasion for you to savour. Interested? You should be... Gordon writes for Creative Review no less...

It is obviously some kind of old song or some shit I heard once in a poem, not sure, but its how I live my life. I'm living the vida loca. No regrets. STAY WILD!

JESSE LEONARD GEE BIRTHDAY DELIVERABLES

A kids birthday means you got to get creative. I was commissioned by my wife to create a birthday banner, a card and some homemade wrapping paper for the occasion. I met the deadline but she was disappointed with my attention to detail.

I was thoroughly satisfied that she answered the cakes brief though.

We went out to an italian restaurant for dinner and Jesse did one of the best Godfather impressions I have ever seen. "Bonasera. Bonasera. What have I ever done to make you to treat me so disrespectfully?"

CYPRESS HILL FOR REAL!

So the magazine HUCK arrived with my Cypress Hill picture in it. Check the steez. Insane.

People ask, "Why do you sound so funny?"
They must be talkin bout my funky nasal vocal money
I take control, no need to blow my nose
Just click on the chumpy and feel the funky flows
for you and your bros, him and his hoes

NOT VOODOO 5!

Wild times and stormy seas. There's an old sailors proverb that states: A boat makes you happy on only two days, the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Yup, you guessed it!.... it's time for my weekly Not Voodoo submission, and after a hearty breakfast at sea with Captain Comstock, I battoned down the hatches and got to work. See his wild style writings here and also here.

These illustrations are phrases my brother taught me as a child, they have served me well and I live by them. The images are of me and my brother.

ANORAK MAGAZINE

Hey ho! Fun in the snow. Got my hands on the kids magazine I did a coloring in page for last year. I let the kids read it. It was hard for them to have to put Thrasher down and read kids stuff but they did in the end..

DEATH SPRAY CUSTOM

I have been collaborating with Death Spray Custom, working on some designs and illustrative brand identity work. I did a big old knife which is now on that snowboard and some text work as well as the mouth you see there on the main page and a bunch of other stuff. Its an ongoing collaboration so expect to see more...

Check DSC's amazing work here, the finishing is incredible. Check me cruising by your face on my pimped BMX very soon!

NOT VOODOO 4!

Hey bitches! I did a new Not Voodoo weekly spot on Friday but never posted it up till now. See the rest of it here on Gordon Comstock's genius blog on all things creative, Not Voodoo. Its a horrific tale of sex doll revenge. Enjoy it while we are all still alive.

So you think you can fight?

I went to Chinatown for lunch with the legendary canadian music producer, Sammy Golom. I showed him a good time. Ever been to a photo booth in China town? No? I have.

STAY WILD!

I made the words STAY WILD! in an origami style which is like my trademark sign off in emails and what not. So what? Exactly. STAY WILD!

NO BONES

My son said to me over dinner the other night. "Dad, some people have no bones in their bodies." I think he might be right. He usually is. I did these name pictures for Jesse and Rosa's bedroom door.

NOT VOODOO 3!

Sup homies! I have just done a raw as hell comic strip collaboration with Gordon Comstock for my weekly Not Voodoo spot. Its a feminist parable in 4 parts, this being part 1, check his site to see the other frames of part 1... It is unsavoury indeed but it is ultimately a moral tale for this generation. Get wise kids!

VOODOO IS GOOD FOR YOU

Working with Gordon Comstock is an absolute pleasure, he is narcissistic and full of pretentious fuckery. He uses words that I cant even spell, let alone understand.

I just read an article he wrote at the back of February's Creative Review, it was wonderful, I think it needed some illustrations though. Maybe next time, Cumstick?

Doing illustrations for his blog is alot of fun. I did these posters, combining some of my drawings, I want to get them screenprinted and sell them for shit loads of money at the back of Creative Review, that way I will become popular and liked by everyone. BUY BUY BUY!!!

$weet a$.

JESUS LOVES YOU, JESUS CHILDREN

I did these pictures earlier this month for my two kids, my son Jesse is 3 and my daughter, Rosa is 2. Pens and ink fun times. They are better at drawing than me.

They got skills, but not to pay the bills... I am working on their portfolios at the moment.

NATIVE LOVE

I did this as a poster for my own pleasure. This isnt a picture of Geronimo, but I have a whole gang of respect for that fellow. Here is a quote by the man:

"I was warmed by the sun, rocked by the winds and sheltered by the trees as other Indian babes. I was living peaceably when people began to speak bad of me. Now I can eat well, sleep well and be glad. I can go everywhere with a good feeling."

TREESOUNDS SKATEBOARDS

Hey ho! I did 2 decks for Treesound's skateboards in Latvia. Here they be. They have a sweet shape, super poppy and smiley. Thats my boy in the picture, he loves skating and was born to be rad.

NOT VOODOO 2!

My weekly Friday special at Not Voodooo came around again.

Everyone gets laid on a Friday so these images seemed appropriate.

Heres my sexually charged installment on how awesome contraception is. An old friend once said to me "Why would I wear a condom?, I wouldn't wear socks in the bath." Right on dickhead.

NOT VOODOO!

My good friend of mine, Gordon Comstock does a wild and unruly blog called Not Voodoo. He writes fascinating words and insight on the creative industry we work in. He asked me to do some regular pics for a Friday special. Heres this weeks installment.

Check his shit, its HOT!: http://notvoodoo.blogspot.com/

El Mars- Album cover

Raimonds Gusarevs, the Latvian folk music legend, asked me to design his debut album cover.

The album is amazing, truly beautiful. The cover I did is a ship made from coloured textures, the CD a close up of the same. Go get it. I drew him too, just for fun.

ATHLETE Outsiders 10 inch EP

The band ATHLETE, no longer with Parlophone records released a limited edition vinyl 10 inch EP. I did this two colour screen-printed cover for them. The almost illegible design actually reads OUTSIDERS. Read it and weep. Much respect to them for no logos anywhere, God bless you sirs.

ID PURE magazine feature

ID Pure is the Swiss magazine of Graphic Design and visual creation.

They asked to do a feature on me in their gallery section. This is such a good magazine, I haven't seen in the UK, but get it if you can. Click the title to check their site for wild pleasures.

SCIENCE skateboards

"Killer" deck design I did for SCIENCE skateboards, an independent East London based skate company. I was a guest artist alongside Jon Burgerman, Jethro Haynes, Rasa Libre/Upper Playground's Jarrod Bryan, Ilovedust, Koa and MrGauky.

They are printed using solid Pantone's so the colour's look wild. They be selling them in Slam City Skates too. Get them while they're hot. INDEED.

Happy New York!

A picture for my darts partner, the ever faithful, Silent Knight. Enjoy all that you might see in Brooklyn man... and a Happy New Year to all mankind.

DEATHS HEAD

The human skull as a symbol of mortality or death.

HAVANA GOOD TIME!

Last summer 2008, I was part of an exhibition Commissioned by Havana Club Rum and Intercity, the exhibition at Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, showcased 100 artists interpretation of a bottle of Havana Club cuban rum.

For my piece, I formed a band- Los Rumbanditos (The Rum Bandits) after drinking down the rum, we then wrote and recorded a song "Are you havana good time?" Heres the record covers. This work was featured in Creative Review no less. Good times.

LOVEBOX 2008

"Lovebox is an annual event where music and hedonism mix with a passion for carnival, art, food and drink."

Lovebox 2008 featured Sebastien Tellier, who much like myself, is a man who knows how to share his love with the people . Sadly I was unable to attend but I was given the opportunity to design a poster along with 19 other artists, to be displayed and sold at the event in London. Keep on loving.

VALDEZ is coming!

Elmore Leonard is a legendary writer. "Valdez is coming" is one of my favourite books of his. The name Valdez is special to me so leave it well alone. Check me with my kids in that picture. I got wolf's eyes where a mans eyes should rightly be.

HATERFACE

I hate your face. So what. Who cares? Losers Die.

YO MAJESTY!

Christian, lesbian hip-hop duo, Yo Majesty are amazing. I did this for them as a pitch, still waiting to hear something back from them though. Those ladies are real busy I guess. CHECK THEM, ITS WILDSTYLE!

ANORAK kids magazine

"ANORAK- the happy mag for kids" got me to draw a colouring-in page for them. I drew them a happy happy scene with pre-textured areas for kids to colour over. STAY HAPPY KIDS!

TONK

I was asked by my good friend and agent at stemagency.com, Will Robinson, to produce some images for his friend, in memory of the legend that is Tonk.

ATHLETE album cover

I designed a limited edition screen-printed poster for the band ATHLETE, the design was well liked so I went on to work with Big Active to develop my design into an album cover.

ATHLETE limited edition DVD

Easy there compadres. Heres some shots of the DVD Big Active made for ATHLETE, I did the illustrations for your viewing pleasure.

ATHLETE singles

Heres the two singles ATHLETE released under Parlophone before they split with them. Tokyo and Hurricane. The second picture below is the original drawing that I used for the final design.

Beyond the Valley

I did some space themed illustrations for Beyond the Valley on Newburgh Street, London, they used my designs on tees, bags and cardigans using crazy foil and fluoro print styles. B.T.V is run by 3 lovely ladies whom I went to Central St Martins with, Jo Jackson, Kate Harwood & Kristjana S.Williams.

Beyond the Valley are known as one of London’s leading destinations for fashion innovation and cultural insight.

Design Museum- Nick Hornby

Penguin books asked me to do a poster of my teen hero to promote the publication of Nick Hornby’s first novel for teenagers at the launch at the Design Museum. I drew myself on the back of a motorbike with the Fonz in a 3D fashion. I like the way the the Design museum writes about it:

"Seven current heroes of contemporary graphic design and illustration, between them responsible for hundreds of iconic album and magazine covers, ad campaigns and posters, were invited to design a poster of their teen hero."

I was a teenage hand model

This was good times to draw. I love Queens of the Stone Age so it was a pleasure to draw the mix-tape thing for them in Dazed & Confused magazine. I have done a few pieces for Dazed over the years but this is my favourite. Wild pleasures.

Paul Smith

A while ago now I did some 4 tees and a limited edition silk jacket for R.Newbold, which is a boutique brand of Paul Smith's. They sold them in Japan and the kids went wild. The theme I chose was Circuses and clowns. Much love was made during the making of these clothes.

MOJO- Arctic Monkeys

MOJO magazine spread on Arctic Monkeys album Favourite Worst nightmare. This was ages ago now actually.
